Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Contractor) to design, build, and operate scalable cloud data platforms on Azure Databricks. This role will be responsible for platform enablement, infrastructure automation, environment management, and operational reliability of enterprise data and AI platforms. The ideal candidate will drive platform stability, performance, security, and governance, enabling seamless onboarding and productivity for Data Engineering and AI/ML teams. Platform engineering plays a critical role in ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure for data and analytics workloads
All contractor resources are expected to demonstrate baseline proficiency in enterprise-approved AI tools as part of their day-to-day responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to:\\\\r\\\\n-Consistent Use: Maintain a minimum of 90% weekly usage of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other GenAI platforms approved by the enterprise.\\\\r\\\\n-Applied Productivity: Leverage AI tools to enhance coding, documentation, data analysis, and decision-making workflows.\\\\r\\\\n-Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and features, and apply them to improve delivery quality and velocity.
Strong experience with: o Azure Databricks (Mandatory) o Azure Cloud Services (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Key Vault) • Hands-on expertise in: o Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) o CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub) o Cluster management, compute optimization, and cost control • Experience with: o Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, logging frameworks) o Platform automation and DevOps practices
