Job Summary
SQL - SME : • Minimum 9 to 12 Yrs. relevant experience on SQL Server Database Administration. • Test and Install SQL Server along with the latest hotfix and patches in dedicated and shared environment • Installation and up gradation of SQL Server 2008 R2/20017/2019/2022 on Clustered and Non-clustered environment for production, development, staging servers. • Installation of latest SQL Server Service packs and hot fixes. • Installation of MSRS. • Providing support on database-related issues during testing and troubleshooting of existing applications in live environment to resolve performance, security and other back-end issue. • Migrate database between SQL servers. Migrate database from test / development to production environment • Monitor SQL Server down, SQL Server Agent down, Error log, Application and System logs, Job failures, Backup Failures, Database and Log growth, CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization and Disk Utilization using the in-house built SQL Server monitoring tool. • Change management and incident management through Picasso, BMC Remedy Force and other ticketing tools. Working on Incidents / Work Order / change requests to provide resolution within the set time frame / SLA. • Making sure that the daily activities (backups, jobs etc.) are running and being handled properly. • Take part in SOX testing for financial applications to make sure that the SQL Server hosting the financial data is in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulation. Remediation of the servers as per the SOX guidelines. • Setting up security on server and database level. • Backing up and restoring databases with SQL Server 2008 R2/20017/2019/2022 and Lite Speed 2005. • Capacity Management it includes memory, processors I/O devices along with Disk space. • Implementing Disaster recovery plans using replication, log shipping, Database Mirroring (in SQL Server 2008 R2/20017/2019/2022) and point in time recovery of databases. • Documentation for installation of MS SQL Server 20017/2019/2022 CUs and hot fixes. • Testing latest released service packs in test environment. • Re-indexing and Index tuning. • Amazon RDS and multi-region EC2. Operational support, change and release management, • Migration from Amazon RDS to Amazon EC2 • Creating and Managing logins/Access levels in Azure IAAS and PAAS environments. • Database restoration activity on azure sql database server and managed instance. • Migration of databases from On premise to Azure Cloud environment.
