Role Summary
The DC LAN SME is responsible for the design, implementation, operations, and optimization of Data Center LAN infrastructure, with strong focus on Cisco ACI-based environments. The role ensures stable, scalable, and high-performance DC network services aligned with enterprise standards and SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
DC LAN Architecture & Design
• Contribute to HLD and LLD for DC LAN (ACI-based) environments
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and segmentation standards
Build, Implementation & Migration
• Lead deployment of DC LAN (ACI fabric, Nexus switching, routing)
• Execute migrations, expansions, and lifecycle upgrades
• Support commissioning and decommissioning of DC infrastructure
Operations & Troubleshooting (L3 SME)
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for DC LAN incidents (P1/P2)
• Ensure SLA adherence, stability, and performance improvement
• Act as escalation point for complex network issues
Service Engineering & Optimization
• Engineer, document, and enhance DC LAN and WAN services
• Analyze infrastructure and recommend optimization initiatives
Automation & Standardization
• Drive automation using APIs, Ansible, or similar tools
• Standardize configurations and operational procedures
Data Center Hands-on Support
• Support rack and stack, cabling, and physical connectivity
• Participate in maintenance and change windows
Technical Skills Required
Core Networking
• Strong expertise in Routing and Switching (BGP, OSPF)
• Knowledge of protocols such as IPsec, GRE, HSRP/VRRP, NAT, MPLS, QoS
Data Center Technologies
• Cisco ACI architecture (Single-site, Multi-pod, Multi-site)
• Knowledge of Tenant, VRF, BD, APIC, L2Out, L3Out components
• Nexus technologies including VXLAN and vPC
Automation & Tools
• Exposure to REST APIs, Ansible or similar tools
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in DC networking / Cisco ACI environments
• Experience in global enterprise network environments
• CCNP (Routing & Switching / Data Center) preferred
