Job Summary
Job Summary : Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Ribbon SBC Engineer to support, manage, and optimize Session Border Controller infrastructure within a complex enterprise/UCC environment. The role involves L2/L3 support, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of Ribbon (Sonus) SBC platforms to ensure high availability, security, and performance of voice services.
Key Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities : Key Responsibilities Operations & Support • Provide L2/L3 support for Ribbon SBC (Sonus SBC 1000/2000/5000 series) • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity of SBC infrastructure • Handle incident management, problem management, and service requests • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for voice and signaling issues • Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI compliance Configuration & Implementation • Configure and manage: o SIP trunks, dial plans, routing policies o Transformation tables (SIP header manipulation) o TLS/SRTP configurations for secure communication • Support new deployments, migrations, and upgrades • Integrate SBC with: o Microsoft Teams (Direct Routing) o Skype for Business / Lync o CUCM / other PBX platforms Troubleshooting • Diagnose issues related to: o SIP signaling (INVITE, REGISTER, BYE flows) o Call failures, one-way audio, call drops o Codec mismatches and media negotiation (RTP/SRTP) • Use tools like: o Ribbon SBC logs & traces o Wireshark / packet captures • Work with carriers/vendors for end-to-end issue resolution Security & Compliance • Implement and maintain: o SBC security policies o Access control and firewall configurations • Ensure compliance with: o Enterprise security standards o Telecom best practices Automation & Optimization (Good to Have) • Involve in automation of routine activities • Support scripts for configuration backup, health checks • Continuous improvement of voice infrastructure Required Skills Technical Skills • Hands-on experience with Ribbon SBC / Sonus SBC • Strong understanding of: o SIP protocol & VoIP architecture o RTP/SRTP, TLS o Voice codecs (G.711, G.729, Opus) • Experience in Microsoft Teams Direct Routing is highly preferred • Knowledge of: o Networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, VLANs) o Firewall and load balancing concepts Tools & Platforms • Ribbon SBC management tools • Wireshark / SIP trace utilities • Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)

Skill Requirement : Soft Skills • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills • Good communication skills (customer-facing role) • Ability to handle high-priority incidents and escalations • Team collaboration and cross-functional coordination Experience & Qualifications • 3–8 years of experience in voice/telecom infrastructure support • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / IT / Telecom (or equivalent) • Ribbon / Sonus certification (preferred) • Microsoft Teams / UCC certification is an added advantage Key Deliverables • High availability of SBC platform • SLA adherence and incident resolution • Seamless voice service experience • Secure and optimized voice infrastructure

Other Requirement : Good to Have • Experience in cloud voice (Azure, Teams Voice) • Exposure to multi-vendor voice environments • Knowledge of PowerShell / scripting
