Job Summary

Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer

Design enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Commvault/Rubrik across VMware, AWS, and Azure, including recovery optimization, capacity planning, and data-center failover.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Commvault and Rubrik.

• Develop recovery strategies for VMware, AWS, Azure, and data-center failover scenarios.

• Optimize recovery performance, capacity, retention, testing, and operational readiness.

• Follow approved architecture, security, change, documentation, and service-management controls.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders; communicate progress, risks, decisions, and support needs.

Skill Requirements

• Suggested baseline: 8+ years in the relevant engineering domain, including ownership of complex production environments.

• Hands-on capability aligned to the role scope: Commvault/Rubrik across VMware, AWS, and Azure, including recovery optimization, capacity planning, and data-center failover.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, document designs and procedures, and work effectively across distributed teams.

• Working knowledge of enterprise security, change, incident, problem, release, and operational-readiness practices.

Other Requirements

Education and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• Relevant cloud, platform, network, data, security, DevOps, IT service management, or project-management certifications are desirable where applicable to the role.
