Job Summary

Job Description: Ivanti Security Controls & SCCM/MECM L3 Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced L3 Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Ivanti Security Controls and Microsoft SCCM/MECM to manage enterprise patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint compliance, application deployment, and advanced troubleshooting across Windows server and workstation environments.

  • Ivanti Patch Management: Administer Ivanti Security Controls for Windows server and endpoint patch scanning, assessment, deployment, scheduling, reporting, and remediation activities.
  • SCCM/MECM Administration: Manage Microsoft SCCM/MECM infrastructure including site servers, distribution points, software update points, client health, collections, deployments, and compliance reporting.
  • Patch Lifecycle Management: Plan, test, approve, deploy, and validate monthly Microsoft and third-party patches through Ivanti and SCCM/MECM while following change management and maintenance-window requirements.
  • Vulnerability Remediation: Review vulnerability scan results, identify missing patches, prioritize critical and high-risk vulnerabilities, and coordinate remediation across server and endpoint environments.
  • Software Deployment: Create, test, package, and deploy applications, updates, scripts, and configuration changes using SCCM/MECM collections, deployment rings, and phased rollout methods.
  • L3 Troubleshooting: Act as the third-level escalation point for complex patch failures, SCCM client issues, distribution failures, deployment errors, scan failures, compliance gaps, and server-side performance issues.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Track patch compliance, generate health reports, validate deployment success, maintain audit evidence, and ensure systems meet internal security and regulatory requirements.
  • Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell and SCCM/Ivanti automation capabilities to streamline patching, reporting, client remediation, health checks, and repetitive administrative tasks.
  • Change & Incident Management: Work within ITIL processes to raise changes, support CAB approvals, manage patch-related incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in endpoint management, Windows server administration, patch management, or SCCM/MECM operations, with at least 2 years in an L3 support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ivanti Security Controls, SCCM/MECM, WSUS, software update points, distribution points, collections, client agents, and compliance baselines.
  • Good understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, networking basics, vulnerability management, and enterprise security patching processes.
  • Experience in application packaging, software deployment, patch testing, phased rollout, maintenance-window planning, and post-deployment validation.
  • Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot complex deployment failures, coordinate with infrastructure/security teams, and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes is preferred.
