Job Summary

a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in open-source databases and cloud database platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining high-availability database systems, primarily focusing on MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Azure-managed databases within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.\r\nThe role requires strong troubleshooting skills, performance tuning experience, and familiarity with Linux environments and scripting for automation\

 

Key Responsibilities

 Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.\r\n• Manage and administer Azure database services such as:\r\no Azure Database for PostgreSQL\r\no Azure Database for MySQL\r\no Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB API\r\n• Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal system performance.\r\n• Perform database tuning, query optimization, and index management.\r\n• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.\r\n• Ensure database security, user access control, and compliance with organizational standards.\r\n• Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis.\r\n• Automate routine database operations using scripting.\r\n• Work closely with application developers and DevOps teams to support database integration and performance improvements.\r\n• Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures\r\n

Skill Requirements

Technical Skills\r\n• Strong hands-on experience with:\r\no MongoDB\r\no PostgreSQL\r\no MySQL\r\n• Experience managing cloud databases on Microsoft Azure.\r\n• Knowledge of database backup, replication, and high availability setups.\r\n• Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.\r\n• Basic to intermediate administration skills in Linux environments.\r\nPreferred Skills\r\n• Scripting knowledge using:\r\no Bash\r\no Python\r\no Shell scripting\r\n

Other Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in database administration.\r\n• Hands-on experience with open-source databases in production environments.\r\n• Experience supporting cloud-based database infrastructure is preferred.\r\n
