Job Summary

  • The Transition Project Manager (Cloud & Infrastructure) is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering end‑to‑end transition programs involving data center migrations, infrastructure modernization, and cloud adoption. This role ensures seamless transition of services, systems, and workloads with minimal business disruption, while coordinating across multiple technical and functional teams.


    Key Responsibilities

    1. Transition Planning & Governance

    • Develop and manage transition plans covering scope, timelines, dependencies, resources, and risks.
    • Lead discovery and assessment workshops to understand as‑is infrastructure and cloud readiness.
    • Establish governance structures, operating models, reporting frameworks, and communication plans.

    2. Cloud & Infrastructure Migration Management

    • Oversee execution of migrations involving servers, networks, storage, databases, applications, and services.
    • Drive cloud transition waves (lift‑and‑shift, re‑platform, re‑architect) in collaboration with cloud engineers and architects.
    • Ensure migration tools, automation, and best practices are leveraged for efficient transitions.

    3. Program & Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for project updates, escalations, and cross‑team coordination.
    • Prepare and present weekly dashboards, executive summaries, RAG status reports, and risk logs.
    • Collaborate closely with Infra, Cloud, Security, Network, DevOps, and business teams.

    4. Risk, Compliance & Change Management

    • Identify transition risks, define mitigation plans, and drive issue resolution.
    • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements during the transition.
    • Manage change requests, impact assessments, and approvals in coordination with CAB/ITSM processes.

    5. Vendor & Partner Management

    • Coordinate with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), OEMs, third‑party vendors, and migration partners.
    • Track SLA compliance and ensure vendor deliverables are completed on time.

    6. Operations Readiness & Handover

    • Ensure all cutover activities, KT sessions, SOP updates, and runbook preparations are completed.
    • Transition services seamlessly to steady‑state operations or managed services teams.
    • Conduct post‑transition reviews and lessons‑learned exercises.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 7–12+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in cloud or infrastructure transition projects.
    • Strong understanding of infrastructure domains: compute, storage, network, virtualization, databases, backup/DR.
    • Experience leading cloud migration or hybrid-cloud transformation programs (AWS/Azure/GCP).
    • Proven project management expertise (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
    • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect, or GCP Architect.
    • PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or Scrum Master certification.
    • Experience with tools such as Azure Migrate, CloudEndure, VMware HCX, Discovery tools, CMDB mapping, etc.
    • Background in data center exits, infra consolidation, or large IT transformation engagements.
