Job Summary

Job Overview We are looking for a highly skilled RabbitMQ Support Engineer to design, implement, and support asynchronous messaging systems and event-driven architectures. You will be responsible for maintaining reliable communication between microservices, ensuring high availability, performance, and system resilience. Environment • RabbitMQ (RMQ): 4.3 • Erlang: 27.3 • Operating System: RHEL 9 Key Responsibilities • Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, and maintain RabbitMQ clusters, including exchanges, queues, and bindings to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. • System Support & Integration: Provide production support and collaborate with development teams for seamless producer–consumer integration and issue resolution. • Performance Optimization: Optimize message throughput, reduce latency, and fine-tune queue performance in high-volume environments. • Monitoring & Alerting: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana) to track broker health, connections, and resource utilization. • Reliability & Disaster Recovery: Configure message durability, acknowledgments, and Dead Letter Queues (DLQs) to prevent data loss and ensure recovery. • Security & Compliance: Manage VHosts, user permissions, TLS encryption, and network configurations. • Upgrade & Implementation: Lead and support RabbitMQ upgrades from version 3.9 to 4.3, including full implementation on Linux (RHEL) servers. Perform end-to-end upgrade activities such as planning, compatibility validation (Erlang/plugins), cluster upgrade execution, configuration migration, and post-upgrade validation with minimal downtime. Required Skills • Strong hands-on experience with RabbitMQ (4.x preferred) in production environments. • Proven expertise in upgrading RabbitMQ (3.9 → 4.3) on Linux systems. • Good understanding of Erlang runtime behavior. • Experience with RHEL 9 system administration. • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. • Expertise in troubleshooting distributed messaging systems. • Hands-on experience with HA clusters, Quorum Queues, Federation, and Shovel. • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Java, Python, Go, or C#). Soft Skills • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration • Proactive mindset with ownership of production issues
