Job Summary
Job Title: Linux Administrator – L3
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu). Perform installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux environments. Handle L3 escalations and provide root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents. Perform server hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation. Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies. Configure and troubleshoot services such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, NFS, Samba, DNS, DHCP, and SSH. Monitor system performance and optimize CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization. Perform OS upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities. Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible. Support virtualization platforms such as VMware and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) as required. Work with application, database, storage, and network teams to resolve complex issues. Create technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles. Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical guidance.
Skill Requirements
Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Linux distributions. Linux boot process, kernel tuning, and performance troubleshooting. LVM, multipathing, filesystem management, and storage concepts. Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, FTP, SSH, Load Balancing. Shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell). Configuration management tools: Ansible/Puppet/Chef. Monitoring tools: Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Splunk. VMware administration and basic cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure). Knowledge of clustering and high-availability solutions.

RHCSA / RHCE Red Hat Certified Specialist Linux Foundation Certification (LFCS/LFCE) AWS/Azure Certification (preferred)
