Job Summary

experienced Enterprise Vault Migration Specialist to support a critical infrastructure transformation project at our headquarters in Zurich. The role focuses on the end-to-end migration and upgrade of Veritas Enterprise Vault, including server migration, database upgrades, and integration with Exchange and storage systems. The candidate will work closely with internal engineering teams to plan, execute, and validate a multi-phase migration, ensuring minimal downtime and full data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Optimize Backup And Recovery Processes Using Symantec Netbackup And Backup Exec, Ensuring Efficient Data Protection And Recovery Strategies That Meet Organizational Goals.
2. Enhance Operational Systems By Integrating Emc Data Domain For Improved Management Reporting And Streamlined Information Flow, Supporting Strategic Organizational Planning.
3. Collaborate With Clients To Understand Their Requirements And Lead The Support Team In Delivering Exceptional Service, Ensuring Alignment With Client Expectations And Slas.
4. Mentor And Guide Project Teams By Establishing Transparent Communication Of Project Goals, Fostering A Culture Of Accountability And Continuous Improvement.
5. Drive Innovation In Process Development By Identifying Opportunities For Improvement Within Existing Workflows, Contributing To Overall Organizational Progress And Efficiency.
6. Provide Tailored Solutions That Address Customer Needs Through Effective Use Of Symantec Technologies, Resulting In Measurable Business Outcomes.

Skill Requirements

Strong experience with Veritas Enterprise Vault (EV 12.x, 14.x, ideally 15.x) Proven experience in Enterprise Vault migrations or upgrades Solid knowledge of: Microsoft SQL Server (migration, backup, restore) Windows Server environments IIS, MSMQ, and EV prerequisites

Other Requirements

Infrastructure & Integration Experience with: Enterprise storage systems (vault stores, partitions, indexing) Exchange integration (mailbox archiving) Understanding of DNS, networking, and service dependencies Migration & Project Skills Experience in large-scale data migrations (TB-level) Ability to plan and execute cutover scenarios Familiarity with structured migration approaches and validation steps
