Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Level 3 (L3) Engineer to support and manage the Mercedes Benz enterprise network landscape under HCLTech\'s Managed Services engagement. The role demands deep hands-on expertise across Cisco & HPE/Aruba LAN/WLAN, Cygna Labs and Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), and the ability to design, deploy, and operationalize Cisco DNAC and Aruba Central platforms during the transition phase. Key Responsibilities

LAN / WLAN Operations (Cisco & HPE/Aruba) • Provide L3 support for Cisco Catalyst 9K/6K/4K, Nexus, Cisco WLCs (5508/5520/9800), Cisco APs, and HPE/Aruba switches, Aruba Mobility Controllers, Aruba APs, and Airwave. • Own root cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and permanent fix implementation for P1/P2 incidents in a dual-vendor environment (~90% Cisco, ~10% HPE/Aruba). • Support the Traditional 3-Tier Architecture (Category A), Collapsed Core with Service Layer (Category B), and Converged Core (Category C) deployments with redundancy at each layer, including common services (WLC, ISE PSN). • Manage localized WLC deployments, RF design tuning, capacity planning, roaming optimization, and guest access solutions (Captive Portal with Username/Password, Free Internet with T&C, MAB for IoT). • Drive config drift remediation, IOS/AOS-CX upgrades, code compliance, and hardware lifecycle (RMA) activities. • Perform change implementations via ServiceNow following Doer-Checker model, with evidence-based pre/post checks. 2.2 DDI – Infoblox & Cygna Labs (runIP / IPControl) • Manage and support Infoblox / Cygna Labs runIP (~200 appliances + 2 Management Servers) and IPControl (2x DB + 2x CAA) for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services across ~70 DDI sites. • Handle DNS Security, External DNS (Hidden Master in DMZ, Slave in Cloud), and coordinate with Central DNS forwarder teams (out of scope but interfacing). • Perform grid maintenance, member additions, HA failover testing, DB backups/restores, scavenging, zone transfers, DNSSEC, and Anycast DNS operations. • Support DHCP scope management, failover pairs, lease optimization, IPAM reconciliation, and subnet planning. • Provide L3 troubleshooting for DNS resolution failures, DHCP starvation, IP conflicts, and DDI-to-AD/Cloud integration issues. 2.3 Cisco DNAC & Aruba Central – Transition Setup • Lead the design, deployment, and operationalization of Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) including cluster setup, SDA (Software-Defined Access), fabric design, LAN Automation, Assurance, ISE integration, and templates/PnP onboarding. • Lead the setup of Aruba Central (cloud-managed) including group/site hierarchy, template groups, AirMatch, ClientMatch, UXI, AIOps, and Airwave migration/coexistence. • Define and implement Day-0/Day-1/Day-2 operational SOPs, RBAC, API integrations with ServiceNow, and northbound integrations with AIOps. • Drive greenfield/brownfield onboarding of devices to DNAC/Aruba Central during transition, ensuring zero-downtime cutovers. 2.4 Governance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement • Own HLD/LLD documentation, MOPs, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. • Drive Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives — automation, self-healing, AIOps adoption, and proactive monitoring. • Contribute to weekly/monthly governance reviews with client stakeholders, providing L3 technical inputs. • Mentor and upskill L1/L2 engineers through coaching, KT sessions, and scenario-based training. 3. Skill Requirements

Mandatory (at least one): • CCNP Enterprise / CCNP Wireless or Aruba ACMP / ACCP • Infoblox NIOS Certified Professional or Cygna Labs Certified Engineer Preferred: • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure / Wireless • Cisco DNA Center Specialist • Aruba ACMX / ACCX • ITIL v4 Foundation 5. Soft Skills & Behavioral Competencies • Strong customer-facing communication — must be able to interact with Mercedes Benz stakeholders during major incidents, CAB, and governance reviews. • Ownership mindset — end-to-end accountability for incidents, changes, and problems. • Analytical & structured problem-solving — ability to work under pressure during P1 bridges. • Documentation discipline — evidence-based change management and audit-readiness. • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, weekend implementations, and on-call rotations.
