Role Summary

The L3 LAN Engineer serves as the highest technical escalation point for enterprise LAN infrastructure and is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, design support, capacity planning, lifecycle management, automation, and major incident resolution.

Advanced LAN Support

  • Act as L3 escalation point for critical LAN incidents.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across campus networks.
  • Support large-scale Cisco and Aruba switching environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues.

  • SDA (Software Defined Access)

Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC)

  • Device onboarding and provisioning
  • Assurance Management
  • Software Image Management (SWIM)
  • Template deployment
  • Compliance management

Problem Management

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Identify recurring infrastructure issues.
  • Implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Maintain technical knowledge articles.

Upgrade & Lifecycle Management

  • IOS-XE upgrades
  • Switch refresh initiatives
  • Software lifecycle planning
  • Validation and rollback testing

Capacity & Performance Management

  • Capacity forecasting
  • Utilization analysis

  • Infrastructure modernization

Security & Compliance

  • Vulnerability remediation
  • Security advisory reviews
  • Configuration compliance audits
  • Network segmentation support

Automation

  • Python scripting
  • Ansible automation
