Job Summary

The Active Directory L3 Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, troubleshooting, optimization, and security of the organization's Active Directory infrastructure. The role involves handling complex incidents, root cause analysis, implementing AD solutions, and providing technical leadership for AD-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

Active Directory Administration

  • Manage and maintain Active Directory forests, domains, sites, trusts, and organizational units (OUs).
  • Perform AD health checks and capacity planning.
  • Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and troubleshoot policy-related issues.
  • Implement AD security best practices and compliance requirements.

Identity & Access Management

  • Manage user accounts, service accounts, groups, and permissions.
  • Support privileged access management and role-based access controls.
  • Integrate Active Directory with enterprise applications.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management

  • Resolve complex L3 incidents related to:
    • Active Directory
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Replication
    • Authentication (Kerberos, NTLM)
    • Group Policies
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Infrastructure & Security

  • Implement and maintain:
    • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
    • Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID
    • Azure AD Connect
    • Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
  • Monitor security vulnerabilities and implement remediation.
  • Support identity synchronization and hybrid identity environments.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using:
    • PowerShell
    • Windows Administration tools
  • Automate provisioning, reporting, and health checks.

Project Support

  • Participate in migration and transformation projects.
  • Support AD domain consolidation and upgrade activities.
  • Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
