Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Database Automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, performance optimization, security, high availability, disaster recovery, and automation of enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The candidate should possess hands-on experience in designing and implementing automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting, and DevOps pipelines to streamline database operations, improve service reliability, and reduce operational effort.

This role requires collaboration with application teams, cloud teams, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable database services.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration


Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases.

Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Perform backup and recovery using RMAN.

Conduct database cloning, refreshes, and migrations.

Monitor and optimize Oracle database performance.

Support Oracle version upgrades and migration projects.

Implement security controls, auditing, and compliance requirements.

Manage AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Clustering, Replication, and Log Shipping.

Perform database backup, restore, refresh, and migration activities.

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot production incidents.

Implement indexing strategies and query optimization.

Manage SQL Server security, encryption, and compliance controls.

 

PostgreSQL Database Administration


Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL databases.

Manage PostgreSQL replication, failover, and high availability solutions.

Perform performance tuning and query optimization.

Conduct PostgreSQL upgrades and migrations.

Implement backup and recovery strategies.

Manage schemas, extensions, roles, and security configurations.

 

Database Automation & Platform Engineering


Design and implement automation for routine DBA operations.

Develop automated workflows for:

Database provisioning

User management

Database refreshes

Backup validation

Health checks

Monitoring and alert remediation

Patching and upgrades

Capacity management

 

Automate operational processes using:


Ansible

PowerShell

Shell Scripting

Python

Git

CI/CD Pipelines

 

Develop self-healing mechanisms for recurring database issues.

Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps initiatives within database platforms.

 


Cloud Database Administration


Support cloud database platforms including:


AWS RDS Oracle

AWS RDS PostgreSQL

Azure SQL Managed Instance

Azure Database for PostgreSQL


Support cloud migrations and modernization programs.

Optimize cloud database performance and costs.

 

Production Support


Provide L3/L4 support for mission-critical production systems.

Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Lead troubleshooting during critical incidents and outages.

Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.

Support Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management processes.
