Job Summary
We are looking for an Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in VMware vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) and Microsoft SCORCH, along with solid PowerShell and Shell scripting expertise. The candidate should have practical experience in infrastructure automation, including VM lifecycle management, patching, and tool administration, and should be capable of independently designing and delivering automation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) and Microsoft SCORCH
Automate infrastructure lifecycle activities, including:
VM provisioning and decommissioning
OS and application patching
Start/stop, scale-up/down, and housekeeping activities
Create and enhance custom workflows, actions, and runbooks for infrastructure automation
Develop and maintain PowerShell and Shell scripts for Windows and Linux-based automation
Integrate orchestration tools with VMware, ITSM tools, monitoring tools, and third-party systems using APIs
Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of automation/orchestration tools
Identify and remediate tool-related vulnerabilities and ensure security compliance
Troubleshoot automation failures and provide L2/L3 support for orchestration platforms
Skill Requirements
Good to Have (Preferred)
Exposure to ITSM tools (ServiceNow, BMC Helix, etc.)
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and hybrid automation
Experience with other automation tools (Ansible, BMC AO, Terraform)
Understanding of CI/CD or DevOps automation concepts

Good communication and documentation abilities
Proactive mindset towards automation and process improvement.

Proven experience in infrastructure automation (compute, OS, VM lifecycle)
Experience in building multiple end-to-end automation workflows
Good understanding of:
VMware / Virtualization concepts
Windows and Linux environments
Experience with tool upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation
Working knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
