Job Summary

IBM Sterling File Gateway Specialist The IBM Sterling File Gateway Specialist is responsible for designing, configuring, administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise managed file transfer solutions using IBM Sterling File Gateway, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, and related technologies. The role ensures secure, reliable, and compliant file exchanges between internal systems, external partners, vendors, and customers. Key Responsibilities • Configure, administer, and support IBM Sterling File Gateway and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator environments. • Manage secure file transfer workflows using protocols such as SFTP, FTP/S, HTTPS, AS2, and Connect:Direct. • Onboard trading partners, customers, vendors, and internal applications for managed file transfer processes. • Create, configure, and maintain partners, routing channels, mailboxes, certificates, keys, schedules, and transfer rules. • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot business processes, workflows, maps, service adapters, and protocol configurations. • Monitor file transfer activity, identify failures, and resolve production incidents within agreed service levels. • Perform root cause analysis for file transfer issues related to connectivity, authentication, certificates, encryption, permissions, and data formats. • Support installation, upgrades, patches, migration, configuration changes, and environment maintenance activities. • Implement encryption, decryption, signing, certificate management, and PGP key handling in line with security requirements. • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, application, and business teams to deliver scalable and resilient MFT solutions. • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, configuration guides, partner onboarding documents, and support procedures. • Participate in 24/7 production support, on-call rotation, change management, and release deployment activities as required. Required Skills and Experience • Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator administration. • Good understanding of managed file transfer concepts, partner onboarding, routing, mailbox management, and secure data exchange. • Experience with transmission protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, FTP, and Connect:Direct. • Knowledge of BPML, XML, Sterling business processes, service adapters, and workflow troubleshooting. • Experience with certificate management, SSH keys, SSL/TLS, PGP encryption, and secure file transfer controls. • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, including basic administration and troubleshooting commands. • Experience with SQL queries and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2. • Ability to analyze logs, monitor transfer activity, troubleshoot failed transmissions, and resolve production issues. • Familiarity with change management, incident management, problem management, and production support processes. • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with business users, technical teams, external partners, and vendors. Preferred Skills • Experience with IBM Sterling Secure Proxy, IBM Control Center, Global Mailbox, and Sterling Connect:Direct. • Experience in MFT platform migration from tools such as GoAnywhere, MOVEit, Axway, Cleo, or Globalscape to IBM Sterling platforms. • Knowledge of EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, flat files, and related data transformation concepts. • Exposure to monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or IBM Control Center. • Experience with scripting or automation using Shell, Python, PowerShell, Java, or REST APIs.
