Job Summary
The Cloud Operations Center Engineer (Mid‑Level) is responsible for stable, secure, and efficient operations of Wacker’s cloud platforms across a multi‑cloud environment.\r\nThe role focuses on L2/L3 operational support, platform reliability, automation enablement, and continuous optimization, ensuring cloud services meet SLA, security, and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Operations & Service Stability\r\n\r\nOperate and support cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Azure China/21Vianet, Oracle OCI – as applicable to Wacker scope).\r\nEnsure availability, performance, and reliability of cloud services through proactive monitoring and operational controls.\r\nSupport BAU cloud operations aligned with agreed SLAs and governance standards.\r\n\r\nIncident, Problem & Change Management\r\n\r\nHandle L2/L3 cloud incidents and service requests, including troubleshooting of compute, storage, networking, and platform services.\r\nParticipate in major incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.\r\nExecute and support cloud change activities (patching, configuration changes, upgrades) following approved change processes.\r\n\r\nAutomation & Operational Efficiency\r\n\r\nSupport and enhance infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or native cloud automation services.\r\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization.\r\nCollaborate with DevOps and platform teams to align operational practices.\r\n\r\nSecurity, Governance & Compliance\r\n\r\nEnsure cloud operations adhere to Wacker security, compliance, and governance policies.\r\nSupport access management, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements for cloud services.\r\nMaintain operational documentation, runbooks, and evidence for audits and reviews.\r\n\r\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\r\n\r\nWork closely with application teams, database teams, network, security, and ITSM functions to resolve cross‑tower issues.\r\nContribute to cloud service optimization, cost awareness, and capacity planning discussions.\r\nMentor junior cloud engineers and support knowledge transfer within the GCC.
Skill Requirements
5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations or platform support roles.\r\nHands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle OCI (multi‑cloud exposure preferred).\r\nSolid understanding of cloud networking, security basics, monitoring, and cost management.\r\nExperience with automation / IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, etc.).\r\nFamiliarity with ITIL processes and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).\r\nAbility to operate in on‑call or shift‑based models if required.
