Job Summary

A Security Architect & Automation Engineer designs secure IT infrastructure and develops automated tools to detect, prevent, and remediate threats. They bridge high-level security strategy with hands-on Python/API-driven automation, focusing on cloud security (e.g., Azure/AWS), CI/CD security, and AI-enhanced security workflows.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Identity and Access Management (IAM) operations in complex and large-scale environments. The individual drives operational excellence by developing advanced IAM strategies, ensuring robust access controls, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. They empower technical teams, address client needs with innovative solutions, and uphold stringent security and compliance standards to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Design: Create and implement security blueprints for infrastructure, networks, and applications, aligning them with business goals.\r\nSecurity Automation: Build and manage automated security tools, APIs, and frameworks (e.g., Python, LangChain) to enhance detection and response efficiency.\r\nCloud & Network Security: Develop security controls for cloud infrastructures (e.g., zero-trust, IAM, container security) and manage security across systems.\r\nThreat Detection & Mitigation: Research emerging threats and leverage AI/machine learning to build automated workflows for threat scanning, analysis, and remediation.\r\nGovernance & Compliance: Perform risk assessments, gap analyses, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 15504).\r\nSecure SDLC & CI/CD: Integrate security into DevOps pipelines, including automated code review and testing.

1. Lead operational management of IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, or Microsoft Azure AD, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with organizational standards. 
2. Architect and implement IAM process improvements using automation tools and advanced analytics to enhance reporting, workflow efficiency, and incident management.
3. Oversee and drive resolution of escalated IAM issues by applying expert knowledge of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, LDAP) and access provisioning tools.
4. Mentor and guide IAM support teams in deploying and maintaining identity lifecycle management solutions, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate client access requirements into scalable IAM solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory mandates.
6. Identify, evaluate, and introduce innovative IAM technologies and best practices to optimize security posture and streamline operations.
7. Ensure comprehensive documentation and transparent communication of IAM policies, procedures, and project goals within the operations team.

Skill Requirements

 Experience: 5–10+ years in IT security, with experience in security architecture, software engineering, or automation.\r\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Python, API integration, Git/GitHub, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and SIEM tools.\r\nCertifications: CISSP, SABSA, or cloud-specific certifications are highly desirable.\r\nKnowledge: Strong understanding of security protocols, network security, and AI-driven security tools.

1. Excellent Understanding Of Authentication Protocols Such As Saml, Oauth, Openid Connect, And Ldap. 
2. Advanced Skills In Automating Iam Processes Using Scripting Languages (E.G., Powershell, Python) And Workflow Tools.
3. Strong Experience In Access Provisioning, Identity Lifecycle Management, And Compliance Reporting.
4. Excellent ProblemSolving And Analytical Skills For Complex Incident Management And Root Cause Analysis.
5. Expertise In Iam Governance, Policy Enforcement, And Regulatory Compliance Requirements.
6. Excellent Communication And Mentoring Skills To Lead Technical Teams And Align Operations With Strategic Goals.

Other Requirements

Programming/Scripting: Python, Bash, Go.\r\nSecurity Frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK;.\r\nAutomation Platforms: SIEM, SOAR, Kubernetes, Docker.\r\nSoft Skills: Strategic thinking, communication, mentoring, and project management.

1. Recommended: Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with IAM specialization. 
2. Optional but valuable: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Okta Certified Professional, SailPoint IdentityNow Certified Engineer
