Job Description -- Widows Administration (L3)\r\n\r\nMCSE, VCP with good knowledge of Windows Operating System (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019), Active Directory (AD).\r\n\r\nRequired Technical Skills - Primary\r\n\r\n1. Domain Administrators\r\nRoles & Responsibilities: Domain Administrators, on occasion, must perform the duties associated with Schema and Enterprise administrators as identified below.\r\nSchema Administrator\r\n• Maintains security and integrity of schema\r\n• Oversees modifications to schema\r\n• Full disaster recovery plan and practice of schema recovery\r\nEnterprise Administrator\r\n• Creation and management of the forest\r\n• Overall security and reliability of the forest\r\n• Creation and removal of domains\r\n• Management of trust relationship with ALS domain\r\n• Management of trust relationship with JGI-OSF domain\r\n• Full disaster recovery plan and practice of trust recovery\r\nDomain Administrator\r\n• Includes FSMO roles, Creation, and management of directory infrastructure\r\n• trusts, Kerberos KDCs, replication topology, etc.\r\n• Creation of all top-level OU hierarchies with Client standard sub-OUs, groups, and appropriate security permissions. This includes adding the OU Admins to the AddComputers group, Group Policy Creator Owners group, and OU Admins mail list. It also includes setting appropriate permissions on the created objects and linking of default GPOs.\r\n• Monitoring and reporting associated with the reliability and security of the domain\r\n• Use the domain admin account only for actions that require the privilege level of this account\r\n• Monitoring changes to domain root and domain controllers OU to ensure unauthorized changes do not occur\r\n• Day-to-day management of the domain controllers\r\n• Monitoring connectivity, synchronization, replication, netlogon, time services, FSMO roles, schema, NTDS database partitions, DNS settings, SRV records, and trust relationships\r\n• Review DC event and security logs and take corrective actions\r\n• Monitor and resolve security situations at all levels of the domain to ensure a stable and secure domain\r\n• Domain Controller Management\r\n• Physical security of the domain controllers in IT Division space and oversite for all domain controllers\r\n• Backups and restores on domain controllers\r\n• Full disaster recovery plan and practice recovery of DCs and core Directory objects\r\n• Policy monitoring and compliance\r\n• Apply and enforce Client standard naming conventions for objects in the domain\r\n• Comply with Client AD policies and standards as defined\r\n• Monitor compliance with Client AD policies and standards as defined, including Change Management, Communication and Coordination\r\n• Provide OU Admins with assistance when requested\r\n• Coordination with the Client Cyber Security group to ensure the Client domain is secure\r\n• Comply with all Cyber Security group orders regarding emergency conditions\r\n• Work collectively with the OU administrators\r\n• Secure remote administration of the DCs and member servers managed by the Infrastructure Group\r\n• Manage group policy at root of domain and for Domain Controllers OU\r\n• Manage the root Users and the root Computers OUs\r\n• Install and manage security reporting tools used to monitor changes to the Active Directory\r\n• Coordinate and configure alarm distribution to OU Admins for OU-related events\r\n• Plan and manage all migrations and upgrades related to the AD or the DCs\r\n\r\n2. 2. Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes using MS Windows Administration frameworks to ensure compliance with client SLAs and minimize service interruptions.
3. Analyze system logs and performance metrics with Windows administrative utilities to proactively identify risks and drive root cause analysis for complex issues.
4. Guide and mentor the support team by providing technical direction on Windows 2000 environments, fostering skill development and ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
5. Drive process innovation by evaluating and integrating new tools, automation scripts, or best practices within Windows OS administration to enhance operational efficiency.
6. Ensure seamless information flow and management reporting using Windows-based monitoring and reporting tools, supporting data-driven decision-making.
7. Engage with clients to understand operational requirements, translating them into actionable support strategies within the Windows 2000 framework.
8. Develop and enforce operational standards and policies for Windows administration, ensuring compliance and consistency across projects.
