Job Summary

Database Engineers\\\\r\\\\nSQL Server Database Engineer (Google Cloud)\\\\r\\\\nRole purpose\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nSupport the migration and operation of Microsoft SQL Server databases from on‑premises (VMware) to Google Cloud, ensuring secure, compliant, and stable database services for business‑critical applications.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nKey responsibilities\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nExecute VMware → Google Cloud (GCE / VM‑based) migrations for SQL Server databases\\\\r\\\\nSupport migration planning, execution, validation, and post‑migration stabilization\\\\r\\\\nOperate SQL Server databases in hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environments\\\\r\\\\nPerform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting\\\\r\\\\nSupport database changes, releases, and incidents in line with ITSM processes\\\\r\\\\nCollaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams\\\\r\\\\nEnsure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are updated\\\\r\\\\nRequired skills and experience\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nStrong hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer\\\\r\\\\nSolid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments\\\\r\\\\nExperience with cloud‑based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE)\\\\r\\\\nExperience with database migrations from on‑prem to cloud\\\\r\\\\nKnowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g. Always On, clustering)\\\\r\\\\nExperience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar)\\\\r\\\\nSQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise\\\\r\\\\nNice to have\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nExperience with hybrid cloud setups\\\\r\\\\nFamiliarity with infrastructure as code and automation concepts\\\\r\\\\nExposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements

Key Responsibilities

Skill Requirements

Strong hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments Experience with cloud‑based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE) Experience with database migrations from on‑prem to cloud Knowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g. Always On, clustering) Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar) SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in distributed (nearshore/offshore) teams Comfortable working in structured governance and compliance frameworks Hands‑on, delivery‑oriented mindset

Other Requirements

Experience with hybrid cloud setups Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation concepts Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements
