Job Summary
Senior Oracle DBA Engineer responsible for end-to-end database operations, performance, availability, and incident resolution in 24x7 production environments. Acts as primary resolver group for critical DB incidents, ensures service restoration, stability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24x7 operational support for Oracle databases across Prod/UAT/Dev environments. Own incident management (P1/P2), troubleshooting, RCA, and service restoration for database issues. Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Oracle DB (11g/12c/19c+). Manage High Availability & DR solutions – RAC, Data Guard, replication, backup/restore testing. Drive performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Execute backup & recovery (RMAN / tools) and ensure data integrity. Support monitoring, alert handling, and proactive issue resolution through OEM/monitoring tools. Perform database security, compliance, and audit readiness activities. Handle schema refresh, migrations, and cross-platform upgrades. Collaborate with application, infra, and cloud teams for end-to-end service delivery. Mentor L1/L2 DBAs and provide technical leadership.
Skill Requirements
Strong expertise in:Oracle DB (10g–19c+), RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Backup & Recovery (RMAN), Data Pump (EXPDP/IMPDP), Performance tuning (AWR, SQL tuning, execution plans) Hands-on with: Linux/Unix (AIX/RHEL), Shell scripting, PL/SQL, Oracle OEM, monitoring and automation tools Knowledge of:GoldenGate / replication technologies, Cloud DB (OCI/AWS/Azure) and migration tools Strong in:Incident, Problem & Change Management

8–12+ years experience in Oracle DBA operations (L3 level) Experience in large-scale, SLA-driven production environments Ability to handle critical incidents and stakeholder communications Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts/on-call Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
