Job Summary

The MS SQL Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and high availability of Microsoft SQL Server environments. The role ensures database availability, security, reliability, and optimal performance across production and non-production platforms

Key Responsibilities

 Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Microsoft SQL Server instances. Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity utilization. Manage backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery processes. Administer SQL Server Always On, Clustering, Mirroring, Replication, and Log Shipping. Troubleshoot database performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and connectivity problems. Perform query optimization and performance tuning using SQL Profiler and performance monitoring tools. Manage database security, user access, roles, permissions, and auditing. Support database migrations, upgrades, and platform refresh activities. Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes. Develop and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and database standards 

Skill Requirements

 Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) T-SQL Scripting Backup & Recovery Performance Tuning & Query Optimization Always On Availability Groups SQL Clustering Database Security & Access Management

PowerShell Scripting Windows Server Administration Database Migration & Upgrade Activities Azure SQL (Preferred) Monitoring Tools (Spotlight, SQL Profiler, SCOM, OEM tools)
