Job Summary : Senior Database Administrator (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 & PostgreSQL) Experience 6–12+ Years Location As per business requirement Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, security, backup/recovery, high availability, and lifecycle management of enterprise database environments including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, and PostgreSQL. The role requires strong operational excellence, troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting mission-critical production databases in 24x7 enterprise environments. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Database Administration • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, and PostgreSQL databases. • Manage database lifecycle activities including provisioning, migration, refresh, cloning, decommissioning, and capacity planning. • Administer production, development, QA, and DR environments. Performance & Optimization • Monitor database health, availability, and performance. • Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and database configurations. • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively. Backup, Recovery & High Availability • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies. • Perform database restores and disaster recovery testing. • Manage High Availability and Replication technologies such as: o Oracle RAC, Data Guard o SQL Server Always On Availability Groups o DB2 HADR o PostgreSQL Replication/Patroni/Streaming Replication Security & Compliance • Implement database security standards and hardening guidelines. • Manage users, roles, privileges, encryption, and auditing. • Support security assessments, compliance audits, and vulnerability remediation activities. Monitoring & Automation • Utilize monitoring tools to ensure database reliability and availability. • Develop scripts for automation, health checks, maintenance, and reporting using Shell, PowerShell, Python, SQL, or Ansible. • Support Infrastructure-as-Code and automation initiatives where applicable. Incident & Problem Management • Provide L2/L3 support for database-related incidents. • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. • Participate in major incident resolution and on-call support rotations. Change & Release Management • Review and execute database changes following change management procedures. • Support application deployments, schema changes, upgrades, and migrations.
