Job Summary

PostgreSQL Database Administration - GCP, Support the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, enabling reliable and compliant database services for both traditional and cloud‑native workloads. Job Description : PostgreSQL Database Engineer (Google Cloud)\\\\r\\\\nRole purpose\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nSupport the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, enabling reliable and compliant database services for both traditional and cloud‑native workloads.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nKey responsibilities\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nMigrate PostgreSQL databases from on‑premises platforms to Google Cloud\\\\r\\\\nSupport PostgreSQL running on VM‑based and/or managed cloud services\\\\r\\\\nPerform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization\\\\r\\\\nSupport onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms\\\\r\\\\nTroubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities\\\\r\\\\nCollaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders\\\\r\\\\nMaintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles\\\\r\\\\nRequired skills and experience\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nStrong hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer\\\\r\\\\nDeep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration\\\\r\\\\nExperience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud\\\\r\\\\nHands‑on experience with database migrations (on‑prem → cloud)\\\\r\\\\nUnderstanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts\\\\r\\\\nExperience working in enterprise / regulated environments\\\\r\\\\nNice to have\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nExperience with PostgreSQL managed services\\\\r\\\\nAutomation and scripting experience\\\\r\\\\nFamiliarity with cloud security and compliance requirements 

Key Responsibilities

Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on‑premises platforms to Google Cloud Support PostgreSQL running on VM‑based and/or managed cloud services Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

Skill Requirements

Strong hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Hands‑on experience with database migrations (on‑prem → cloud) Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts Experience working in enterprise / regulated environments Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in distributed (nearshore/offshore) teams Comfortable working in structured governance and compliance frameworks Hands‑on, delivery‑oriented mindset

Other Requirements

Experience with PostgreSQL managed services Automation and scripting experience Familiarity with cloud security and compliance requirements
