Job Summary : Purpose of Role The role will be involved in support of highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and database deployment of windows/Unix based systems . Key Dimensions of the role Department/function Database Team Direct reports Regional HCL resources (if any) Reporting Manager Team Lead Location Noida Designation Consultant / Associate Consultant/Technical Specialist/Sr Specialist/ Main Responsibilities: • The role will be involved in support of highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and deployment of large range systems along with a team of technically competent professionals. • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments • Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design. • Provide L2 & L3 level support • Acting as a subject matter expert for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible systems in Cloud and Virtualized environments. • Consult with internal team and end users to determine system requirements and specifications. • Act as a member of a quick-response team. Will often work under demanding deadlines, operating independently to resolve complex problems. • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks or document procedural run-books for junior administrators. • Be part of an on-call rotation. • May be asked to mentor others or serve as a team lead, guiding day-to-day activities of team members. • Other duties as assigned. • Resolve moderate to complex (P1, P2 and P3) incidents and problems effectively and in a timely manner • Providing 24X7 production support and available for escalations. Also ready to work in any shift. • Responsible for performing root cause analysis and long term fixes • Responsible for implementation of medium to complex components of a project module, change request. • Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions • Work in a cross cultural team and communicate effectively Desired Skills and Experience Technical / professional qualifications: • 5+ years of database management administration experience in large enterprise environment. Required Experience: • Installing and Configuring the SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014,2016,2017 and 2019 • Applying Service Packs for SQL Server and Hot fixes. • Migration of SQL server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2014, 2016,2017 and 2019 in Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016,2019 Enterprise Edition. • Expertise in Database backup and Recovery, Restoration of database • Extensively worked on troubleshooting and implementing Log shipping, Database Mirroring and Always on. • Experience in Configuring, Troubleshooting SQL failover Cluster to provide High Availability for the critical production service, which include (Active- Active, Active-Passive), and adding the nodes in the respective servers in SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012 & 2016. • Having experience to managing SSIS, SSRS and SSAS packages. • Good Experience in Performance tuning activities like handling the slow running queries. • Implementation of SQL Logins, Roles and Authentication modes as a part of security policies for various categories of user support • SQL Server Health Monitoring (Disk Space/CPU/memory/SQL job/error log) • Experience in providing Production support for Database and Applications.
