Job Summary

The L3 Backup Operations Engineer provides advanced technical expertise, problem resolution, and operational leadership for storage and backup services. The role focuses on complex incidents, root‑cause analysis, optimisation, DR readiness, and continuous improvement, while operating within Ayvens’ governance and architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and optimise backup schedules and retention strategies (within approved architecture)Lead RCA for recurring backup failures and data protection issuesValidate restore procedures and recovery readinessEnsure backup and recovery processes meet business and DR requirements

Skill Requirements

  • Deep expertise in enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE)
  • Strong experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of DR architectures and data protection strategies
  • Experience working with cloud storage and archival services
  • Exposure to automation, scripting, or AIOps‑assisted operations (preferred)
  • Strong vendor management and stakeholder communication skills

Other Requirements

1. Symantec Certified Specialist (SCS) � NetBackup or Backup Exec (optional but valuable)
2. EMC Data Domain Specialist certification (optional but valuable
